Cenerentola Orcia Doc Fattoria del Colle
Cenerentola Orcia Doc Fattoria del Colle

Rare and bold red wine, produced with grapes from Trequanda’s vineyards.

Cenerentola is the evocative name chosen by the Fattoria del Colle for a wine destined to greatness: an Orcia DOC made with Sangiovese and Foglia Tonda grapes, the latter is an ancient native Tuscan variety forgotten for years and brought back to fame by Donatella Cinelli Colombini, who has able to enhance its properties and the ability of speaking about the territory of origin. A wine that has nothing to envy to its half-sisters, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano; this is a company that brought women back to the center of the Italian wine scene by producing high-end wines in the wonderful setting of Trequanda.

Grapes blend Sangiovese and Foglia Tonda

Tasting notes Intense and brilliant ruby red color. Perfume of particular finesse, depth and complexity. References to violet are combined with hints of apple, black cherry, cherry and also darker smells of pepper, juniper and citrus fruits. Harmonious and overbearing taste in its youthful exuberance, the warmth of alcohol is well balanced by freshness. The evident, but silky tannins promise longevity, the pleasant taste remains long in the mouth. Wine suitable for large meat dishes and aged cheeses. Also excellent between meals with savory biscuits and salami. Raw vinegar, onion and garlic, artichokes and asparagus should be avoided. Serve at room temperature (18-20 degrees) in white crystal goblet glasses with a wide cup.
