"If you taste our products you will feel the authentic flavor of raw materials" this is the premise of Tommaso who runs the Il Poggio farm in Celle sul Rigo, a hamlet of San Casciano dei Bagni.
“Our crops are organic” Tommaso tells us: “And regarding the ranch, we have a small production of Cinta Senese, which allows us to process the meat while paying great attention to the conservation of the organoleptic characteristics. And when you taste a slice of our Cinta Senese ham, well you feel it!". Truth be spoken, entering their shop having a nose is enough to realize how good their production is: when you open the door, a wave of perfume from over thirty hams hanging from the ceiling comes to you. Drool is guaranteed. Here you will find anything from the production of preparations, such as ribollita and other traditional soups, sauces and pates, jams, extra virgin olive oil, wine and other noteworthy Tuscan gastronomy products.
Il Poggio is a micro-world with accommodation service, restaurant and riding school immersed in the Sienese countryside and managed by the Gori family, where they cultivate cereals, vineyards, olive groves and vegetables, they raise Cinta Senese pigs in the wild, transform food in tasty preparations and make cold cuts in an internal laboratory.
A narration with the voice of whom everyday lives, eats and cultivates in Valdichiana. You will find this in our newsletter that will follow the seasonality of Valdichiana.
